Vectal.ai
by David Ondrej
David Ondrej built Vectal.ai from zero to $155K ARR and 70,000 users in about a year, then sold it for $1.8 million.

What they built
Vectal.ai is an AI productivity app that David Ondrej describes as what you would get if ChatGPT and Notion had a baby. It fuses a reasoning chat model with a task and notes workspace plus AI agents that carry out work, aimed at power users who want the model to actually do things, not just answer.
David is a Czech founder who first made money from a gaming YouTube channel, watched it fall from around $20K a month to $600, and pivoted into AI. He now runs one of the larger AI education channels on YouTube with 385,000+ subscribers, and built Vectal on top of that audience.
How they did it
He shipped fast with a small team and AI coding agents doing most of the heavy lifting. His workflow is to run the same task through Cursor, Codex, and Claude Code in parallel and take the best result, and he has publicly logged over 400 hours inside Cursor. Building in public on X and YouTube gave him a launch audience most founders never have.
He started building around October 2024 and launched roughly two months later. From there he posted his revenue openly as it climbed.
“vectal.ai has reached $6,794 MRR”
View on XThe numbers
- $6,794 MRR by February 2025, roughly two months after launch. source
- Around $10,000 MRR and 70,000+ users by September 2025.
- Peaked near $155,000 in annual recurring revenue, then sold Vectal for $1.8 million in December 2025, a zero-to-exit arc of about fourteen months. source
The exit is the headline, but the mechanics are the lesson: an existing audience plus AI-assisted shipping let one founder go from idea to a $1.8 million sale inside a single year. Revenue and exit figures from his own company site and sale announcement.
