What they built

Closet Tools is a browser extension that automates the tedious parts of selling on Poshmark, the resale marketplace for clothes. Poshmark rewards constant activity: sellers have to share listings over and over to stay visible, follow other users, and send offers. Closet Tools does that on autopilot in the background. It is a single-purpose tool built for one platform's specific grind, sold as a subscription, and run entirely by one person, Jordan O'Connor (@jdnoc).

How they did it

O'Connor was in serious student loan debt and started selling on Poshmark to bring in extra money. He found the platform frustrating, went to Reddit, and saw the same complaints everywhere. So he built the tool he wished existed. He grew it with content marketing and SEO aimed squarely at Poshmark sellers, ranking for the exact problems people searched for. He has been unusually transparent about the money, even posting the profit-and-loss statement he pulled together when he and his wife were buying a house.
