What they built

Superblog is a blazing-fast blogging platform, a cross between WordPress and Medium. It gives you WordPress-grade SEO tools with Medium's clean writing experience, and it handles the technical parts for you: schema markup, sitemaps, IndexNow, and even an llms.txt file so AI search engines can read your content. Sai Krishna built it as a one-person team to fix a problem he kept hitting, that good-looking blogs usually meant either heavy maintenance or someone else's branding.

How they did it

No ads, no sales calls. Superblog grew on the thing it sells: speed and SEO. Sai used the product to rank his own content, wrote comparison guides against WordPress, Ghost and Medium, and let search traffic bring in trials. He also watched revenue concentration carefully, deliberately keeping any single customer to a small share of MRR so a churn event could not gut the business. It is a patient, durable way to build, and it shows in the retention.

“Superblog hits $5K MRR, again! Last year, I rocketed to 5K because one API customer signed up and when they churned, the MRR dropped to $4K range. This year again, crossed $5K but no customer is more than 3% of MRR. So, I'm pretty sure MRR will not do drastic dips.”

The numbers

Sai crossed $5K MRR with healthy, spread-out revenue where no customer is more than 3% of the total (source). Prodwrks documented the fuller picture: Superblog scaled from $0 to about $81K ARR as a solo indie hacker with roughly 190 paying customers, no ads and no sales calls, with a goal of $100K ARR (source). These are founder-reported figures, so treat them as claimed.

What to take from it: watch your revenue concentration, not just the top-line number. A business at $5K MRR spread across many small customers is sturdier than one at $10K resting on two whales. Sai optimised for the shape of the revenue, and that is why his line stopped whipsawing.
